SF New Deal Opens Application for Shared Spaces Arts & Culture Grants up to $10,000

SF New Deal is excited to announce an open call for individuals, groups, and organizations to apply for grant funding to activate Shared Spaces with outdoor performances, installations, and other cultural engagement activities. Building upon SF New Deal’s ongoing work supporting small businesses in bringing their outdoor Shared Spaces into permanent compliance, the next phase of the program supports artists and cultural organizations with grant awards up to $10,000. This investment, in partnership with the City of San Francisco’s Shared Spaces team, creates greater opportunity for community engagement and connection and enhances the use of Shared Spaces in neighborhoods citywide.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

SF New Deal anticipates awarding at least 30 grants.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Anyone can apply for projects proposed anywhere within San Francisco.

  • Applicants do not have to be San Francisco residents to receive grant funds.

  • Funding can be used to continue and expand programming already underway, but can not be used to retroactively fund past projects.

  • Proposed projects should occur between August 1st, 2023 and September 1st, 2024.

  • Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, with priority consideration given to applicants who apply by August 1st, 2023.

CRITERIA:

SF New Deal will be offering grants in three programming categories. Artists or Shared Spaces operators may apply individually to be matched by SF New Deal, or they may apply in conjunction with one another for site specific proposals.
